Trade relations and investment opportunities between Vietnam and Italy

This program was held by South Office of Trade Promotion Agency to satisfy the demand of southern cities/provinces at Regular Meeting of Southern Trade Promotion in An Giang, in May 2016, for strengthening the connection of trade promotion activities among southern cities/provinces and Consulate Generals, international Trade and Investment Promotion agencies in Ho Chi Minh city. The purposes of this program is to create opportunities for cooperation in constructing infrastructure of trade promotion, trade connections, investments of Mekong Delta provinces then promote the images of local cities/provinces, potential products, as well as introduce preferred investment policy, potential local investment project.

At the meeting, two parties discussed and exchanged detailed information about potential and opportunity for partnership in some sectors, such as: investment in high-tech agriculture development through technology transfer, modern agriculture machinery, development of value-added products, investment and cooperate investment in food processing industry, cooperation in education, high-level human resources development through cooperation among universities in An Giang and Italia.

Mrs. Carlotta Colli - Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh city also said, in May 11/2016, Italy, acting as country of honor would attend the largest exhibition of food industry in Vietnam (Vietnam Food Expo 2016), held by Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Coming to the exhibition, Italian enterprises will display food products, machinery, equipment, technologies and solutions for high-tech applications in manufacturing, agricultural processing, consumer foods. Vietnam Food expo 2016 will be an opportunity for Vietnamese and Italian enterprises to add values ​​for agricultural products and foodstuffs of Vietnam to satisfy the growing demands of domestic market and exports, reduce the proportion of crude exports due to lack of efficient processing technology.
